Events

In addition to monetary donations to several different organizations throughout Monroe County and hours of volunteer work, SIMC has also had the following events in the last 12 months.

Miss Monroe County Scholarship Pageant sponsor

A $1000 scholarship award is being made available by the Soroptimist of Monroe County. The scholarship will be awarded to the best written 500-word essay submitted with the theme, “How I can support and advance the Mission and Vision of Soroptimist if I’m chosen to be Miss Monroe County 2024.”

Open Air Market in Downtown Monroe

We participated in the Open Air Market to educate the community on what our organization is designed to do in the community.

Daily Pick 3 Fundraising 

During the month of June this daily evening raffle is based on the Michigan Daily 3 Digit evening drawing! Tickets are sold in advance and there are 3 daily opportunities for ticket purchasers to win. These tickets sold out again this year and the proceeds go back to our club to be used for annual awards and towards future service projects.

Pajama Fundraiser and Fashion Show

We partnered with Altrusa to collect Pajamas and raise money that went to Family Counseling and Shelter Services of Monroe County. The event was a sold out event with hors d'oeuvres, drinks, clothing fashions and beautiful basket giveaways to our guest.

Celebration of Women

This is our premier event and the culmination of a year of hard work at fundraising! We host a celebration dinner along with our awards celebration at the Monroe Golf & Country Club. This years event keynote speaker was Honorable Amanda Eicher - District Court Judge & Mental Health Court. Then our program proceeded as we honored our recipients with the awards they were presented with from our club.  

Annual Ladies Shopping Night Out

We hosted our annual event that happens in November and includes several vendors throughout the area along with dinner. This event sells out every year and is a perfect mingle just before the busy Holiday season. New this year we added designer purse giveaways (which was a beautiful addition) and the proceeds go back to our club to be used for annual awards and towards future service projects
